Vera Herfkens - Mini group course on the countryside of Tuscany
in Micciano
It is one of those holidays which you look back upon and say "I wish I
was back there again". It was exactly like the title of the booklet about
Micciano said,” the last village before heaven”. For us heaven began here,
with amazing hospitality from Annet and Geert, the delicious food and even
fetching fresh spring water every morning was a blast!
It is such a luxury to get lessons outside, you don't have to think about
coffee and lunch and even the entertainment program was thoroughly thought
out . It is such a beautiful place with all the old towns. Not to forget
the great lessons of Andrea, he is such a great teacher. We learned and
laughed a lot from our own and other peoples mistakes.
Ellen Moons (Ellen has also had private lessons from Andrea in Bologna):
My week in Micciano was a great success, it's a beautiful house and
surroundings and weather and most importantly, Annet and Geert are the
best hosts that you can get!! The food was amazing and everything was how
we wanted it. I already knew that Andrea was a great teacher, and this
time he again taught us Italian with a lot of humor.
Annelies Fehres: Thank you for the great welcome. It was perfect!!
Everything: the house, the garden, the swimming pool, the food, the
ambiance, the teacher and the walks. I enjoyed it a lot, and on top of
that I learned something, and what else could you want? It is definitely
something to recommend, and something I would love to experience again.
Jetty van der Wansem: It was great at "Podere Provinca", to be in this
still- untouched world, where you can still hear the birds, observe
nature, and the rest of the animals. Thank you for taking care of us,
which was far more then just professional. Also thank you for the great
initiative: Learning italian with a view of Volterra! With the great
inspiring guidance of "our" Andrea 48.
Jacomien Markensteijn - 1 week mini group course (5 ppl) in
Micciano
The last week of May we flew with Basiq Air to Pisa. We were picked up
by Geert, who on the way to Podere Provinca told us about the surroundings.
Arriving at the Podere we were welcomed warmly, seated in chairs on the
terrace with a beautiful view on the hills of the Tuscany landscape. We
tasted the home made wine (fresh and fruity) and crostini's with home made
olive oil and garlic. Everything tasted amazing, and we felt welcome. We
also got a tour of the "campo" and we were taught the process of making
the home made wine. The bedrooms were large and cozy, with a small bouquet
on the bedside table and a great view.
The whole concept of the course was great. In the morning lessons (it
actually started at breakfast), because the teacher Andrea, a charming
Italian, had breakfast with us. Lunch at the Podere, prepared by Annet (She
should start a restaurant, it was that good!) and after that in Geert's
car with Andrea behind the wheel (Italian style) on the road to unknown
towns. We've been in Volterra, Montescudaio, Bibbona and some other cute
places. After all the excursions through the beautiful landscape, where
Andrea told us a lot about the surroundings and the culture (everything in
Italian of course) we had a great meal in the agriturismo. Also very
special. In short it was an amazing, relaxing week where we had a lot of
laughs, saw a lot and learned a lot. We had a really nice group with fun
people. In fact this description is too short to give you a good
impressions of what it was like so go and judge for yourself!
